Gofu Namahage Drummers Live

In February of 2002, Drummers Live was held on a gravel parking lot in Oga Onsen Village. In 2012, we marked the 1,000th live and more than 100,000 people have watched the performance. Throughout history some parts have changed, however, within the hearts of the young men and women performing, there was always a passion to be a part of the community and to welcome tourists from around the world. Still the drummers and the passionate hear beats continues to ressonate at Oga Onsen Village. Performances are done by a Japanese Drum group called "Onga" using the Oga Onsen Village as the home theater, also travelling and campaining to promote Oga. The pieces that they play have a historical meaning or cultural connection with the Oga's folklore such as Namahage. Once you understand the meaning, then you will able to enjoy the performance more deeply.
