Hatahata Fin Sake
Hatahata fin sake was developed by a team of producers with (Mr.? Mrs? Ms?) Takeya as their leader (Mr.? Mrs? Ms?) is the master of a restaurant called Shōgo, located in Funagawa in Oga city. The sake was a result of trial and error when coming up with new ways to use Hatahata. A Hatahata fin and the sake make up one set. The sake comes from Fukurokuju Sake Brewery in a neighboring city, Gojōme, where they tested many different sake in order to find the perfectly dry sake to accompany the Hatahata. The drinker lightly roasts the fin and lets it soak in the sake before drinking, which adds a uniquely extra touch to the drinking process. The fin can be roasted using a Japanese charcoal grill or a frying pan, but must be done with great care as the tip of the fin will burn easily. As it goes for all fin sake, its recommended that Hatahata fin sake be enjoyed hot (atsukan-style).
